Welcome to Shree Ganga Devi Goushala Society

Shree Ganga Devi Goushala Society, located in Ramjibari, Kishanganj, Bihar, is a registered non-profit organization working with dedication to rescue and protect cows from illegal smuggling, especially across borders like Bangladesh.
Our society was officially registered under the Societies Registration Act, 21 of 1860 on 28th July 2021 (Reg. No. S000076).

Cow Rescue Operations

Whenever we get information about cow smuggling, our team immediately rushes to the spot—day or night.Smugglers often operate in remote or risky areas, but we face every challenge with full dedication. Each rescue is done with urgency, courage, and a deep sense of duty to protect innocent lives.

Hospital and Shelter

After each rescue, the cow is immediately taken for a health checkup and necessary treatment. We ensure proper medical care through our dedicated hospital setup. Once treated, the cow is shifted to our shelter, where it receives nutritious food, a clean environment, and compassionate care.

Cow Smuggling Awareness

Our foundation conducts Cow Smuggling Awareness Programs to educate communities about the cruelty and risks of cow trafficking. We encourage people to report such activities and promote the importance of cow protection through awareness, dialogue, and community involvement.

Cow smuggling is a crime
awareness is our weapon

We have a passionate and committed team that actively works to rescue cows from cruel smuggling networks. Once rescued, the cows receive full medical attention, health checkups, nutritious food, proper treatment, and are sheltered in a peaceful and hygienic environment. Alongside rescue and care, we organize awareness programs to educate local communities about the dangers of cattle smuggling and the importance of cow protection in our culture and ecosystem. At Shree Ganga Devi Goushala Society, we believe that every rescued cow is a life saved, and every act of kindness is a step toward a more compassionate society.

Gau Raksha, our culture’s shield

We chose to work on cow protection because we are deeply connected to our culture, where the cow is revered as Gau Mata—a symbol of purity, compassion, and strength. It is heartbreaking and unacceptable for us to see cows being smuggled and subjected to cruelty. Cows are not just animals; they are part of our tradition, our identity, and our wealth. Worshipping and protecting cows has always been a sacred part of our heritage, and through our work, we are simply fulfilling that cultural and moral duty.

Cow Smuggling Exposed

Cow smuggling mainly happens for illegal slaughter and profit. In states like Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, cows are stolen from villages, farms, and even open fields. Smugglers often operate at night, using trucks and hidden routes to transport cows toward border areas like West Bengal and Bangladesh. Despite security, some greedy individuals break laws using bribes or fake documents to smuggle animals. This is not only illegal but also a deep insult to our culture, where cows are honored as Gau Mata. Stopping this cruelty requires rescue efforts, public awareness, and community support.

Why Cow Rescue Matters ?

We should join this mission because it’s not just about saving cows. It’s about protecting our culture, values, and compassion. Cows are considered Gau Mata in our tradition, and they deserve care, not cruelty. By joining us, you help stop illegal smuggling, provide food, shelter, and treatment to rescued cows, and spread awareness in society. Even a small effort can make a big difference in saving innocent lives and preserving our roots.
